September Kindle ebook Sale Recommendations?

I always look forward to the start of the month for a good rummage through the Kindle ebook sale - there's always a few gems in there. However, this month, I'm struggling to find anything that strikes my fancy. I don't really enjoy murder mysteries, romance, or the 'tragic childhood' genre - which seems to be the bulk of this month's offerings.

I'd be very grateful any recommendations, especially if they've been reduced to a pound

I agree that this month's offering seemed a bit thin! I have bought Bad Blood (non-fiction about Theranos), read the sample beforehand and was sufficiently interested to buy the rest... might not be everyone's cup of tea though.

Bad Blood is excellent! I read it a while back and also listened to the podcast which was so gripping. I highly recommend both the book and the podcast.

Thanks, @LampLass - I'd never heard of Theranos, but I've just googled it and it sounds like a fascinating case. Definitely worth risking 99p on, so I've grabbed it.

I also spotted that The Vanishing Half is today's daily deal, and I vaguely recall hearing some good things about that too, so I've picked it up as well.
