Has anyone read Inheritance by Jenny Éclair?

I hope so because I didn't understand the ending!!! I need to have it explained to me.

I also felt it wasn't half as good as the others I've read by her. It felt like the style was very different, which I expect was a different ghost writer maybe.

However, I still need to get what the ending meant!

Just read it. I feel exactly like you. Was it all a dream? Which was the true story?

Magicbabywaves · 13/09/2020 14:30

I wasn’t sure either. I just sort of put those sort of books to the back of my mind.

Guardsman18 · 13/09/2020 14:31

Finished it last night. I thought it was weird too. I'll re read the last chapter (Epilogue?) and get back.

So glad it wasn't just me - thought I'd drunk too much!

Oh no. I’m about 5 pages in and had such high hopes. Camberwell Beauty is an all time favourite of mine Sad

Am I going to be disappointed?

Guardsman18 · 13/09/2020 14:38

Still none the wiser! Austerorange - maybe you can enlighten us?!

Guardsman18 · 13/09/2020 14:39

Sorry - I thought you'd said you had 5 pages to go. The ending is just a bit confusing

Magicbabywaves · 13/09/2020 21:48

I enjoyed it a lot. I just wasn’t sure what happened at the end.

Guardsman18 · 14/09/2020 07:24

Could it be that had Serena done the 'right' thing by Bel and taken her straight home, then a lot of pain would have been avoided for everyone?

5foot5 · 25/09/2020 16:08

I haven't. But then I have only just found out from this thread that she had written another. I have read:

  • Camberwell Beauty
  • Having a Lovely Time
  • Life, Death and Vanilla Slices
  • Moving

Enjoyed them all - especially Having a Lovely Time.

Now I will have to seek out this one and try to pretend I haven't seen any of the spoilers on here Grin

I read it a while ago - can't quite remember the plot. Was there a bit at the end where it considered what would have happened if...?

MaMaLa321 · 03/10/2020 18:14

I loved all of her novels until Moving, which was pretty poor, IMO, and has put me off reading any more.
