Any good? Just about to start reading it for my book club, not started it yet but already not feeling it for some bizarre reason, tell me it's great, please.

Hmm, it seems to be well written but when it started on the sci-fi type stuff it was a turn-off for me, I'm afraid I've put it down and started on Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, DH read it on holiday and has been raving about it ever since. Bowing out of this one, sorry.

thomcat echo most of the others here, couldnot get into this one (2/3 years ago), and i dont get why it won the award it did (or was it just up for it?)

Read this a couple of years back. Agree the sci-fi story bit is v.annoying and whilst it does kind of tie in at the end it did all seem a bit of a waste of space to me. The main story was well worth reading though.
