I'm going to try to read my first book since baby number 2 came along a year ago! I would like something funny and uplifting and definitely a light read. Please can anyone recommend any thing?

I always find PG Wodehouse light and funny
Try the Blandings Castle ones

Nina Stibbe- Man at the Helm, or Reasons to be Cheerful. Slightly mad but funny.

Elinor Lipman is an underrated American author who specialises in light literary fiction, usually with a romantic element. The Inn at Lake Devine, Then She Found Me and My Latest Grievance are three I like.

The Tent, the Bucket and Me, by Emma Kennedy.
Very very funny, and each chapter is stand alone.
Or any Bill Bryson.
