Non-fiction about WW1 and WW2?

Can anyone recommend me a good overview of either of the two world wars, please? After my ten year old's questions, I realise I have never read a nonfiction book about either. Not too massively long, if possible although I appreciate they're huge topics.

Thank you

I like Ian Kershaw's "To Hell and Back" which covers the whole period, from a whole Europe perspective rather than just UK.
It's on the long side, but covers a lot of ground.

Thanks. I shall have a look.

Great Britain's Great War by Jeremy Paxman is an interesting overview of ww1.

Thanks. That's one for each!
