This is 99p on Kindle. It's a really fascinating and well written book about how the author left the infamous Westboro Baptist Church. This is the church known as a hate group, which protests against gays (the church website is known as godhatesfags.com). They have been called a cult and certainly they are a tight knit family based community who are nearly all related. Megan writes very movingly of her love for her family and how hard it was to leave them when she became disillusioned with the church. It is a very readable book fast-paced and engaging. My only criticism is that the ending could do with a bit more detail about what happened.

I've been thinking about reading this. Good to know it's well written. I saw her talking to a Booktuber I watch and thought her story sounded interesting. Tempted to get it now whilst it's still 99p Smile

Yes get it while it's 99p! Well worth a read. They are such a fascinating family, all intelligent, most of them highly educated. In the book she says how frustrating people find it that they have turned all these talents over to such an awful cause. The family also has this same contradiction internally; loving yet abusive and controlling.
