Books for a winter read

I’m planning on snuggling under a blanket with a good read over the weekend as feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Any recommendations for an ultimate winters night book?

What do you usually like?

Off the top of my head...
The Snow Child
Miss Smilla's feeling for Snow
Something by Jo Nesbo?

John Masefield, The Box of Delights.

The Night Circus by Erin Mordanstern.

The first three Robert Galbraith Strike novels are set in winter and are rip-roaring page turners. I'm not usually a fan of detective novels but I love this series.

The Summer Book by Tove Jannsen if you want something that's the antidote to winter.

Bear & the Nightingale - Katherine Arden

Just finished Educated by Tara Westover, best book I've read in ages.

Winter by Ali Smith, good if you like her style of writing.

@Queenparsnip already has both my suggestions!

Miss Smilla is a bit more involved (still great though) because of the way it is written.

You need The Snow Child

Another vote for the snow child

Once Upon A River by Diane Setterfield. A really good read.
