Picked this up as a 2 for 1 offer in Wh smith with low expectations. How wrong was I -in bed last week poorly and couldn't put it down.
Basic story is about 2 cousins at turn of 19th century who get married and find life changes. One of them is very keen on hieroglyphics and reading ..hence the name. I won't give away too much but it is very very readable and plot is quite well written if a touch predicatable.
Its very well written and characters seem to make sense .
