Can anyone recommend a good page turner please?

I'm struggling with anxiety in the evenings and am looking for a easy read page turner type book to take my mind off it. My usual go tos when I want something like this are crime/psychological thrillers but open to other ideas. I'm not really into chit lit type stuff though.

Any recommendations for me please? TIA

Have you read anything by Sharon Bolton or S.J. Bolton, she's used both names. They are really good.

I don't think so? I will take a look - thanks

Crime: Tess Gerritsen (Rizzoli and Isles, but also others); JD Robb, Janet Evanovich, Kathy Reichs, SR Garrae, LJ Ross; [older} Dorothy Sayers, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, the Imogen Quy stories (can't remember the author), Nicci French, Minette Walters; and [thrillers] David Baldacci, Lee Child.

L J Ryan detective novels set in the NE UK. £1.99 each and the kindle paid for books best seller currently. Makes a nice change from the 30+ books that some authors bring out each month by ghost reviewing and editing other authors.

Agree with lots of the above; I'm working my way through Ruth Ware at the moment, they are psychological thrillers, slightly dark. I also like Lisa Jewell (later books) and Adele Parks, both write very well. Oh, Fiona Barton is excellent. Have you read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine? My last suggestion, slightly fluffier though, is Elly Griffith's Ruth Galloway series, I just really liked the characters.

Thanks everyone, lots to get me started! I've just downloaded one of the Sharon Bolton ones - just the sort of thing I was after.

I will have a look at the other suggestions too, thanks. Aww yes I LOVED Eleanor!

My favourite series that I re-read every year is the True Blood series by Charlaine Harris. The books aren’t called True Blood, they made a tv series from the books.

First book in series is Dead until Dark

Rachel Blok - 'Under the Ice' is one I've just finished and it was good.

I like Denzil Meryck's detective series and I'm a big fan of Elly Griffiths.

Good luck with the reading OP!

Lee Child - the Jack Reacher books, rattling good yarns.

Claire Allan has a good selection of easy read, gripping stories, some 'chick lit'.

I just finished 'Forget me Not' which is a thriller and bloody excellent!

Jane Casey's Maeve Kerrigan books are great, I think there're about 8 in the series now.

The Couple Next Door is a good page turner, and an easy read too.
