I discovered this languishing in a box in the (hem hem) 'study' and am of a mind to re-read it tonight.

Unfortunately I can't remember if I thought it any good the first time around, and my time is precious Worth a second go, or no?

Is that the one where she goes to work in a series of menial hourly paid jobs whilst trying to live on the measly wages? If so, then do re-read it, it is v good and thought provoking
If not, then sorry

Yes, MadLab, that is the one.

Agree, it is a great read. I would read it again.

Right then. I shall grab a cup of tea, a handful of homemade choc-chip cookies and go to bed with Ms Toynbee. That's my evening sorted...

V good imo

Good writing, utterly depressing on the subject of the hell that is min wage jobs but compelling and a good read.

Ooh, glad I've seen this. I bought it ages ago and it's been sitting on the 'books waiting to be read' pile. I'll start it once I've finished my current book.
