Hi all

I know it's quite an old book now but I have just read it. Can someone tell me why there was the character of Tilly - the old actress lady? Did we need her at all?? All through the book I was thinking when are you going to join up the characters?

I don't want to spoil it for others and I know there was a meeting near the end but it wasn't really needed was it? Am i missing something? Grin.

Just a small thing in life but having just read it and you know how engrossing her books are, I have been wondering and would appreciate someone telling me! Thank you Smile.

She played quite a key role at the end if I remember.
It also adds to the richness and depth of KA's writing - the fact that she has characters who one might not expect to be included and who are often overlooked in society. The "everything is connected" aspect of her work - which I love.

Thanks Age but would you really call it a key role? She made someone die but that could have happened easily without her and there was loads of background about her. She might be an overlooked type of person, but what was her relevance to the story?? Grin

I am still confused!
