Manga for 9 year old

hi,

I have have a 9 yo DD. bookwork. She has never read a manga but I think she would really enjoy it.

Amazon is overwhelming. Can someone recommend any books for that age group?

Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Dinosaur King etc are usually popular at that age. Manga has to be read back to front though which can be confusing at first. Has she read graphic novels and comics so knows how to read comic strip style stories? Reading a comic backwards is quite hard!

She loves the wimpy kid and recently started Tom gates. They aren't comics as such but heavily illustrated (esp Gates) and she is a very strong reader. wanted to broaden her taste a bit and get some manga for Xmas.

Yes backwards! It's because they are translated from the Japanese. You have to remember to read the panels right to left rather than left to right as you do with graphic novels and comics.
Good graphic novels for that age I would recommend ones by Raina Telgemeier or Victoria Jamieson. I also just read a series called Space Boy - can't remember the author!
