I devoured it over 48 hours and thought it was brilliant. Has anyone read it?

I found Elise's character a little too passive for my liking but thought Connie and Rose were so well crafted. I always admire authors who write strong characters that aren't necessarily likeable.

It's well worth a read.

I agree.

It is a good read. I really enjoyed it but just at times I felt the relationships between the characters was a tad lacklustre

How does it compare to her previous books?

I quite enjoyed the miniaturist, because the setting and history were interesting. But really disliked the muse. Should I bother?

Rivergreen I'm the opposite to you - I loved The Muse but found The Miniaturist disappointing. This one definitely reminds me more of the former than the latter.

Thanks! She’a not a bad writer, but i’m hoping her character development improves with practise...
