Just finished the last Chris Carter novel after seeing the series recommended on here. Loved the books and feel a bit sad now, especially after how the last one ended.

I read fast so like a series I can get my teeth into. Any recommendations on what I can read next?

John Connolly - very dark and a bit supernatural.

Carol O’Connell’s much underrated Kathy Mallory series.

Lee Child’s Jack Reacher thrillers.

PJ Tracey’s series featuring Grace McBride.

Tami Hoag’s Kovac and Liska series.

Tess Gerritsen’s Rizzoli and Isles books.

If you don’t mind a bit of scifi added, JD Robb’s In Death books, up to about book 40. I swear after that they’re ghost written.

I have enjoyed the David Raker series of books written by Tim Weaver. Raker is a widowed, former journalist turned private detective, who specialises in finding missing people. They are full of action and intrigue; Weaver's writing is almost cinematic.
There are 10 in the series to date - the first is Chasing the Dead.

Thanks both, off to have a look at your suggestions.

I LOVE Chris Carter - which have you just finished???? (Hunting Evil?)

I have the unabridged versions on audible as I sleep appallingly so I listen without disturbing dh. Others I have enjoyed (previous boom worm!!!) are the Jo Nesbo Harry Hole series. Took a bit of time to get used to the names but loved them.

MJ Arlington (DI Grace)
Tess Gerritson
Richard Montanari
Lisa Gardner
Michael Connolly (Bosch)
Jeffrey Deaver
Karin Slaughter
Val McDermid (also catching up on Prime with the Robson Greene series but read all of these)

I quite often double up on kindle too or have the books but I’ve enjoyed the above 🙂
