There's mixed reviews of Donna Tartt's book on here but I adored it and I can't wait to see the film. 😁

Thank you. I haven't read it, mostly because I was so annoyed by the ending of The Little Friend that I never read another Donna Tartt book. But I will give it a go as I liked her writing style, which is probably why I got so unreasonably annoyed about The Little Friend as I was enjoying it up until it just stopped.

I feel very much the same about The Little Friend -Someone I know has just started it and I was really tempted to warn them 🙈

@MabelStark after I'd finished reading it I flipped all the pages to find the actual end, in vain. Then a couple of days later I was on the tube and I saw the woman sitting opposite me finish it, and do the exact same page flipping thing. I wanted to tell her that it really was the end, and how much it had annoyed me too, but it was the tube so I stayed silent.

I must be the only person who loved A Little Friend! I thought the ending was realistic. Real life doesn't tie up all the loose ends neatly.

Hated it. The only reason I finished it was because I was recovering from a hysterectomy and was bored shitless. I'm not tempted to see the film at all, nor read any other of her books. Pretentious wank.
