A good book to share

DS is yr10 and DD is yr7. DS and me have been running our own little book club for a while where we read the same book and chat about it. This has been easy enough as I'll read anything so he chooses. DD has started secondary school and wants to join in. Can anyone suggest a good book that both might enjoy? She's a good reader so not worried about the reading level. Thinking possibly war or crime themed but open to any suggestions.
TIA

Well, what kind of books do they like?

DS likes a bit if scifi, thrillers, murder mystery. DD likes historical, vsmpires and romance but is really interested in WW1 and 2 at the mo so quite different tastes. I'm thinking maybe something wartime might appeal to DS with the action and DD with the history.
