Anyone read this?

I found it a real page turner, really scary in parts & thought provoking. Though I found the ending flat, or perhaps didn’t quite get it...

Yes, I read it earlier this year. I did enjoy it, but I came away with the feeling that how could the author make the end of the world seem rather dull!

Love the premise of post-nuclear + murder mystery, and it almost worked, but wasn't quite there.

I also felt that the ending was rather strange, and as you say, a bit flat.

Have you read Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel? You might also enjoy that.

I finished it recently. I did enjoy it actually, but agree the ending was flat! I thought it was like The Walking Dead but without the zombies.

It's Waterstones Thriller of the Month August 2019.
Agreed: "The book moves to a, to my mind, slightly unreal and anti-climatic conclusion."
