Hi, has anyone read this? It won the International Man Brooker, so I had high hopes, but I just didn’t get it!

I had to force myself to finish it. I was really disappointed... just found it really boring.

Glad it's not just me. I read it in the Kindle, and I had no idea who anyone was or what era the chapter was as set in. I'd been looking forward to reading it, too.

Mixed feelings about this. I was v intrigued at the beginning but then also had to force myself to finish it. I also got annoyed with having to constantly check the family tree thing at the front. I thought I was being ignorant for not loving it!

Is the Man Booker bullshit? Ducks, Newburyport is on the longlist this year and that looks ridiculous. I would always trust the Women's Prize over the MB

There was no family tree on the Kindle version. It definitely needed one.
