Yes agree. I finished it a few weeks ago and thought it was good, especially for a first book.

Twinkie1 · 30/07/2007 12:25

Yes - it is great - wanted more drama at the end though but was a fun book to read - didn't know it her first!

Well, i'm reading this too.

Almost finished and if it easn't for the fact that it goes against my nosey nature then i just wouldn't bother finishing.

I had a huge rant to DP last night about the incidental theme of looking down on SAHMs - in fact any woman with so little going on in her life that she would even bother to have children.

Its really not part of the story, just the odd comment here and there but noe i've noticed it i keep noticing it - its driving me mad - cant wait til its finished!

LOL, you're thinking too much about it JV, 'tis a light summer read. I've sort of lost my reading mojo at the moment so it's good to have a page turner on the go. Wish I'd kept it for the beach!

Meant to update this, it was very enjoyable although I agree with Twinkie1 about the ending, TBH I felt that towards the end it started to cover over a bit Chick Lit but even still I would highly recommend it especially for a holiday read.

JeremyVile, I must have missed something as I didn't pick up on any theme of looking down on SAHMs in fact I felt it picked up on the desperateness of women like Helen/Eleanor who turn round and find they have achieved nothing with their lives.
