Anyone got a Nook e reader?

I have one as and since Barnes and noble stopped providing ebooks for it I bought them from Kobo.

This then involved a big faff of putting them on to Adobe digital editions on the laptop and then onto the nook.

However, the nook seems to have done a kind of factory reset and isn't working. Is this the end of my nook? Should I buy a Kobo to rescue all the books I bought but haven't read yet? Should I just give up on e readers altogether. I'm currently on holiday and my book haul is gone and it is very distressing Angry.

My FIL gave us his old nook for our DD which he had reset. It was a lovely gesture but despise much searching we were unable to find any way to make it useable. I fear yours is now the same.

If you have a smartphone, you could get the kobo app, sign in and get your kobo books back that way.

Use your kobo id to log on to the kobo website www.kobo.com/gb/en

Under My Account look for My Books

On My Books each book you own will be shown as a cover picture - bottom right of each picture are 3 dots press those and you get a menu with Download, click download, when it downloads rename the file to the correct name.

Once you have them all (DRM free) upload them to the Nook.

Is the issue that the nook is reset but you can't do a new set up because you can't create a new account? If so, I@m sure I found a work-around on line somewhere when mine did that. [I have since bought a kobo which I quite like, h20 so slightly bigger screen.]

something like this might help raviudeshi.com/11/11/nook-touch-skip-registration

Thanks everyone. I already have kobo app so could maybe read some on my phone but I don't really want to do that as sore on the eyes.

I have downloaded some of the books in an attempt to put them on my nook via my laptop so now it's not letting me download them again so I think I've lost the books maybe? I had treated myself to lots for my birthday so am gutted. Will need to email kobo and see if I can get them back. I am thinking of just buying a kobo reader now but no sure I'll even be able to download them onto that if they have already been downloaded.

Popgoestheweaz I'll have a look at that link, thank you but the nook is just not doing anything, won't connect to WiFi or let me set it up at all.

I had a Nook which I bought an SD card with an Android OS for - popped it in the SD slot and hey presto it was an Android tablet instead. Can you do that?

Wasn't the "Nook e reader" the name of the trade union rule book in "Carry On at Your Convenience"?

cdtaylornats · 12/07/2019 21:28

You might need to connect it via USB first.
