Was listening to Radio 4 last week with only half an ear- they interviewed a female novelist about her (I presume) new book.
It seemed to be about a couple who had a very sick/disabled child and they disagreed about whether to turn off the life support, and had to go to court. It was loosely based on her own experience of having to withdraw treatment for a child.
I really wasn’t concentrating (as you can probably tell), but have just finished my latest book and it came back to me as sounding an interesting read.
Anyone read it?!

I haven't read it but it sounds like Clare Mackintosh's new book After The End

Do you know what programme it was? You could listen again on the Sounds app.

Wow, have only just checked back in and, yes, that is the book @CinnamonSweet73! I checked on Good Reads and it’s definitely the one. Thanks so much as it was really bugging me (and I couldn’t remember which R4 programme it was, @Rokerwriter, or even the time of day!).

I've just finished reading this book. It is unlike her other books but is one of her best. You can tell it's written from the heart even if you didn't know her backstory. Would recommend it. Although I thought it was similar to a Jodi Piccoult book, the issue wasn't as controversial or as provoking and is a great read.
