Does anyone else write FanFiction? It's one of my favourite hobbies and one I can indulge in when my wee one is napping!

I used to a few years ago yes... haven't written anything for years though 😞
I'm sure i still have a lot to update somewhere..

I've written a couple. It's been really positive for me. It let me express emotions which I don't normally feel comfortable with - my first story was very dry, the second one I let myself go a bit. And I enjoyed the stimulation of doing something different and outside my comfort zone.

I think you do have to be realistic though and think of it as something for your own pleasure - I don't think it's in any way similar to writing for publication and I don't have any delusions about it. I've had a few nice comments but I'm well aware the people who don't think what you've done is any good don't make any comment at all!

But someone left a comment on one story saying they were Chinese, could only understand 75% of it but liked it so much they were putting in the effort of reading it. How can you not be awed by the fact that somewhere in China someone is loving what you've written?

I’ve written one, still not finished. I have loads of ideas but just shit at writing. I love reading fan fiction though 😊
