If your library does a summer reading scheme thing do you start full of great intentions and then only read one and a half books and forget all about it?

DS1 andd DS2 doing Big Wild Read. Signed up yesterday, told them to choose one book each this time (they always get loads of randomn ones and never read). As you finish a book you move your rabbit picture onto the next stage of the library wall.

Third year we ahve done it - we have never got past stage two .

all four of mine do this every year and love it.
My DS1 always selects really long books so finishes after the others but they all love it!

I am determined they will finish it this year. It should be easier as DS1 will sit and read alone now and DS2 finally enjoys reading and likes to sit and read to me.

MaloryTowers mine have them on their walls too
.

If the going gets tough selected some thin, "easy to read" books to keep the momentum going.

It is suppose to be fun not a chore afterall!

pointydog · 24/07/2007 09:37

this is the first year in about three or four years that the dds haven't done it.

dd1 always finished it.
dd2 usually finished. She has no time for reading books she doesn't like so she wasn't bothered at missing a stamp or two.

and I couldn't stand the councillor at the award day who gave the medals out so didn't go. Even forgot to pick the medals up last year.
