Providing I can stay awake, dd and I are planning to go to out local bookshop to collect her copy (I'll have to wait until sh'e finished before I can read it - luckily she's a fast reader!)\

Haven't done that before so hope we won't have to queue for too long.... She's planning to dress up too!

dh is going with a mate

DH and I are taking the children to a Harry Potter party organised by the local bookshop that finishes at quarter to midnight so we can go collect the books. It is going to be huge fun - Joss Ackland will be reading the last chapter of Half-Blood Prince, DD1 has won a competition the bookshop ran so she will be presented with her prize. We are all wildly excited and will be dressing up and the works.

Nah I am still going to be desperately trying to reread book 6

left it too ruddy late

there is a fab party locally in a castle but I dithered about going and the tickets all sold out

am duffer

TigerFeet · 20/07/2007 11:15

I am going to our local Waterstones to collect my pre ordered copy

Am even staying off the wine tonight so I can drive there

I am ridiculously excited, in a bouncing up and down toddler sort of way

FlameDelacour · 20/07/2007 11:17

I am now thinking I should have pre-ordered at the out-of-town bookshop rather than stand in a queue in the town centre with all the drunks rolling past!

Bloody harry sodding Potter

agalch · 20/07/2007 11:22

Am having to stay up late to take ds1(nearly 16) and ds2(nearly 12) down to pick up theirs. Wouldnt mind but dd2 still wakes me up for feeds loads during the night and i'm usually in bed for 9.30 boohoo. Never mind it's the 1st time we have done it.

KTWhoMustNotBeNamed · 20/07/2007 11:22

BTW, what time should we go there? Will the shop be open before midnight or will we have to queue outside?

Bother, should have gone to Borders, think they are staying open all evening. If it's still raining like it is now we'll be waiting till the morning!

I'm tescoing it - I hate buying books from supermarkets, but it means we can do the birthday food shopping for Psycho's DS2 first.

expatinscotland · 20/07/2007 11:36

yes. i'm off the shopping centre at 9PM.

DangerousBeans · 20/07/2007 11:37

Yesssssssss!

HP party in the local bookshop.

Boredveryverybored · 20/07/2007 11:37

I'm going to Asda, just called to double check they are getting them after the news saying they're not. The man tells me they are and they are only £5
So I'll be there at 11:30 ready to grab mine!

KTWhoMustNotBeNamed · 20/07/2007 11:37

Mmm if we went to Borders we would then have two copies so we could both read it at the same time
