Chronicles of St Mary's - Hope for the Best

The St Mary's books are my guilty pleasure and I confess that I love Max, Leon and Markham a bit too much for my own good.

So I was really excited to read the latest instalment 'Hope for the Best' but this time I was very disappointed with the story, never mind plot holes this has plot chasms!

Anyone else read it and felt a bit let down?

I enjoyed it! I didn’t notice any plot holes but to be honest I get so confused with the alternate worlds etc I just let all that wash over me and just enjoy the pickles they get into.

I've just finished it. I liked it, but not as much as the others. There wasn't enough history in it for me. I love the characters, but the plotting did leave a bit to be desired.

I am quite looking forward to the the new Time Police stories, but I hope it doesn't mean the end of the St. Mary's series.

I enjoyed it just as much as the previous ones.
I don't tend to "analyse" them though, or look for plot holes, I just read them straight through as light hearted entertainment.
I do wonder where they will go next though - I KNEW they couldn't actually stop Ronan cos then what would they all do? Plots need a baddie so to speak, so it was always all going to go wrong, so they can all live to fight another day...
I also hope the new series doesn't get in the way of St. Mary's - it's bad enough waiting for a new one now, let alone if she's writing others in between. Am hoping we still get a summer and Christmas short story too!
