Just finished re-reading Dark Matter by Michelle Paver - any other recs?

I first read it almost a decade ago and thought it was nice enough but wasn't hugely impressed. Re-read it over the weekend and was far more disturbed by it (maybe because I'm a bit older and thinking more about my own mortality? Who knows).

Anyway, I'd be hugely grateful for any other recommendations. Ghost stories or creepy thrillers. Thanks!

Have you read her follow up, Thin Air? It’s mountaineering rather than Arctic Exploration, and it has more of an MR James feel than Dark Matter And is not quite as scary, but still worth a read.

Also Sarah Waters’ The Little Stranger.

The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell was very good, very creepy.
