I read it yesterday, so sad in parts, I think I was nearly hysterical, had to slap myself

MrsWeasley · 22/07/2007 20:38

I could have done with a few slaps too.
I loved yesterday just spent all day reading.
Bliss

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 22/07/2007 20:53

rereading too, but this time slowly. loved it too and cant bear to read criticism

MrsWeasley · 22/07/2007 20:55

my DC had a great time at the book store. I thought my LO (6 & 8) would be grumpy and falling asleep but they were having such a great time they didnt even notice how late it was

rosmerta · 22/07/2007 21:14

That's great MrsW, I said to dh that I'd wished ds was a fair few years older so that he could've enjoyed all of this as well!

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:08

been at work all weekend so couldn't stay up reading cos i'd be too tired for the next day. day off tomorrow so i'm going to start reading it now. yay

fairybit · 23/07/2007 01:52

Wow, JK Rowling wasn't kidding when she said it was a bloodbath!! She cruelly killed off two of my favourite characters (don't want to spoil it for anyone so that's as much of a moan as I can have). Shell x

HungarianHorntailsBumcheek · 23/07/2007 13:58

Yes. I have finished now too....at a loose end....what can i read that would top it? I may have to start again from the Philosopher's Stone just so i can go 'ooooh yeah! And that related to the last book because....' about a million times.

And i had tears in my eyes loads of times. I feel like a right sad old cow!

MrsWeasley · 23/07/2007 22:04

Started reading it again purely because I havent got another book I fancy reading at the moment and am still in HP mood!

I like to have a read before sleeping

HungarianHorntailsBumcheek · 23/07/2007 22:08

Ditto MrsW but haven't been able to decide whether to reread last book or start from book1 again? Decisions decisions decisions!

MrsWeasley · 23/07/2007 22:12

I'm going to re-read the last one then see how I feel! I may want to read something else for a change but then again as they are all out I may just re-read them all again

HungarianHorntailsBumcheek · 23/07/2007 22:14

Do you think if we can't imagine reading another book, ever, we may be going a bit OTT???

Nahhh!

MrsWeasley · 24/07/2007 09:30

never

rosmerta · 24/07/2007 09:30

lol

I've actually lent my copy to a friend [gasp] so am having a break before reading them all again! I will take my time with DH second time around though instead of reading it in one go!

persephonesnape · 24/07/2007 09:51

I've started reading book one. I'm re reading everything with the knowledge of future events!

my daughter finished HBP in around three days ( very proud!) she's at her grandparents and wants me to send her DH. it's nice knowing secrets. she has the impressions that we all had at the end of book six.

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 24/07/2007 11:32

when are we allowed to mention unmentionables? Im dying to say things....

persephonesnape · 24/07/2007 12:45

I'm airing my unmentionables here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1377&threadid=359209&stamp=070724122956

rosmerta · 24/07/2007 13:56

persephone, I'm not sure anyone wants to see your unmentionables

rosmerta · 25/07/2007 10:15

Is anyone coming back to this thread? if is ending now!

MrsWeasley · 25/07/2007 11:37

I keep coming back and checking here but am scared I forget where I am and post a spoiler.

Just read this and am sooooooooooooooo happy

"In her first tell-all interview since the release of ?Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,? J.K. Rowling told TODAY?s Meredith Vieira she "probably will" publish a Potter encyclopedia, promising many more details about her beloved characters and the fate of the wizarding world beyond the few clues provided in the seventh book?s epilogue.

?I suppose I have (started) because the raw material is all in my notes,? Rowling said. The encyclopedia would include back stories of characters she has already written but had to cut for the sake of narrative arc (?I've said before that Dean Thomas had a much more interesting history than ever appeared in the books?), as well as details about the characters who survive ?Deathly Hallows,? characters who continue to live on in Rowling?s mind in a clearly defined magical world."

rosmerta · 25/07/2007 12:15

It'd probably be something for Comic Relief?

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 25/07/2007 12:22

Brilliant - just posted on the Spoiler thread I'd prefer a longer epilogue.

persephonesnape · 25/07/2007 18:57

For anyone who enjoyed my Black sisters picture, I've sorted out Lily now - I'll be doing a Severus companion piece and I may get around to those pesky marauders at some point - but i think I'll be re-designing all of the book jackets first..
