Recommend a recent book that has made you laugh...

Am presently reading Charlie Savage by Roddy Doyle. Absolutely hilarious - similar confused middle aged character as in the Snapper, the Van etc but almost every line is funny. Loving it! Enjoying how a book can put a positive spin on the whole day. Any other recommendations? Don't have to be really recent just not old classics eg Diary of a Nobody - read quite a few of them Wink

I really enjoyed Deric Longden's books - Wide Eyed and Legless, Lost for Words, I'm a Stranger Here Myself, Cat who came in from the cold and a couple of others. Lots of laughing and crying while reading them!

Very funny and very endearing. Actually all of his books just make you feel good about the world.

this is going to hurt by Adam kay, about a junior doctor is really funny and also a very interesting read, would definitely recommend it

I've just re read My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell and it still makes me laugh as much as the 1st time I read it as a teen Grin

Adam Kay here too. I know you say not old but The Blue Castle by L M Montgomery (wrote Anne of Green Gables) is vg & will make you grin while reading

Good suggestions thanks! Have read 'this is going to hurt' already but not familiar with most of the others...did read Ma'am Darling but found it a bit sad in the end - bit of a wasted unhappy life! LakeFlyPie wondering if My Family..is also good for reading to a 10yr DS who loves animals...?

Another recommendation is Tim Moore's French Revolutions by the way. A non-cyclist decides to attempt the complete route of the Tour de France solo one year. Its quite tricky. I'm on my 4th reading (over many years)

Jana DeLeon miss fortune series. The first one, Louisiana longshot is free on play books. Honestly could not recommended this series enough!!! She also does a more series crime called the shaye archer series which is also brilliant.
