Non Fiction Audiobook Recommendations

Could you please recommend any recent good non fiction audiobooks. I prefer to physically read fiction, but like anything non fiction based when I'm commuting or cleaning up the house!

I've recently really enjoyed Diary of a Bookseller (Shaun Bythell) and I'm currently listening to Born Lippy (Jo Brand), which I'm liking too.

Any other suggestions?

I've recently enjoyed Animal by Sara Pascoe - part autobiography, part exploration of the evolutionary differences between the sexes, all funny. Her accent did bring out my latent Essex girl voice if I listened too much though (probably just me).

This is going to hurt by Adam Kay was also very good. It's about his hilarious and tragic experiences as a junior doctor.

I tend to like medical autobiographies so have also listened to the more serious books by brain surgeon Henry Marsh (Do No Harm and Admissions). Currently listening to Unnatural Causes - autobiography of forensic pathologist Richard Shepherd, which is very interesting but understandably grim.

I mostly listen to non-fiction on Audible. Some favourites over the past few years (I think all read by the author) have been:

The Antidote by Oliver Burkeman (witty and also very interesting)
First Bite: How We learn to Eat by Bee Wilson (as it says - really fascinating)
The Dark Net by Jamie Wilson - about the darker side of the internet, I think pretty much everyone on the 50 books thread who's read this has liked it
What We Cannot Know by Marcus du Sautoy - about the edges of human knowledge
Logical Family - Armistead Maupin's autobiography, delightful if you're a fan of his TAles of the City series
The Stopping Places by Damien le Bas - gentle and fascinating book about Gypsy life
Poverty Safari by Darren McGarvie - polemic about the failures of politics (on both sides) to deal with poverty in the UK

Total Recall by Arnold Schwarzenegger: I’m listening to this at the moment and it’s brilliant!
