Does Amazon delay reviews for new books?

I'm reading a book which was published almost 2 weeks ago. There are some reviews online (Amazon) but they are from Amazon.com (think the book was published in US first.) I've written a review and it's not showing and there are NO reviews for it on .co.uk

Is this a tactic to make people buy it without reading any negative reviews?

no there are zillions of negative amazon reviews- they've no reason to try to stop you buying a particular book!

They often can take a couple of days to come up - im guessing you havent broken any of their guidelines. Smile

i tend not to review if i dont like a book.

When I write Amazon reviews they can appear immediately and then it can take up to 5 days... you also can only review if you have bought £30 of goods (or is it £50, I can't remember) across the Amazon website. They are a bit of a law unto themselves, tbh...

Same here. It's a bit hypocritical as I like to read all reviews good and bad and then make up my own mind, it just feels wrong to publicly criticise someone's hard work.
I follow a lot of writers on Twitter and it's clear how much they are affected by a bad review.
