Read it between 1990 and 2010 a paranormal Christian romance that I remember is about a few ppl one of which is a preacher or clergymember who can see spiritually he tried to "run" from the calling on his life but couldn't I remember him seeing a nasty spirit on a waitress as he was ordering food cannot remember for sure who he was out with though I also remember something about a break in, a miraculous save and a murder? I thought I could find it on my own but I can't please help me.

This isn't one of Susan Howatch's religious series,is it? It's a while since I read them, maybe the last one about Nick Darrow? They are quite thick books! The first is a Glittering a Prizes but I don't think it's that one.

Maybe one of Susan Howatch's Starbridge Series.
Glittering Images
Glamorous Powers
Ultimate Prizes
Scandalous Risks
Mystical Paths
Absolute Truths
They are a series of books about Anglican Priests/Clergymen
If it's about someone who can see/have visions, then the character's name is Jon, his son is also a mystic and his name is Nick/Nicholas.
All the books can be read as stand alone novels but if you read them all then the actions of the characters become clearer.

I've been thinking about this and you may be recalling another series Susan Howatch wrote about the Anglican Church
This does involve the character Nick Darrow, mentioned by pp.
It's called the St Benet's trilogy
A Question of Integrity, sold in the USA as the Wonder Worker
The High Flyer
The Heartbreaker

The description on these books does seem pretty close but it's on the spiritual side. The book I am looking for the main character was either almost killed hisself or saw a crime before he gave his life to God. The book centers on romance, his family and history as well as redemption and I am not sure what race/ nationality they were but they were Christians

It's not a Frank E Peretti is it? 'This present darkness', or something similar. About a preacher, a policeman and a journalist?
