There is a book I remember reading as a child /teenager, but all I remember is one scene. Does anyone recognise them?
- a girl is fostered /adopted. Possibly by a woman with no children of her own. The scene I remember is that the girl's hair was completely matted and dirty but instead of cutting it the foster mother spent hours washing and brushing it out and when she had finished they were both amazed it was so blonde and fluffy. It might have been described as like a dandelion /dandelion clock
