I realise this book is a few years old now but it was recently recommended to me. I was absolutely gripped from start to end and thought it was brilliant. However I've just read a few reviews and was surprised to see so many 2/3 stars because readers were disappointed with the big reveal at the end (reason Nina hated Emma). I thought it made perfect sense that something seemingly trivial would drive Nina to such lengths as she was obviously mentally disturbed.

Anyway, I'm off to find Lane's first book which I haven't read yet and am told is just as good!

Is that quite a big spoiler?

And as an aside, the other book has been turned into a play and is about to show at the bridge theatre in London (it's on my mind as i have just booked tickets!)

She is a hugely talented writer but there were issues for me... but overall it was a gripping and immersive read, having coincidentally just read Her last week. But I would choose to read Alys, Always as the reviews seem so good...

The ending was ridiculous but I'd read another book of hers. I also enjoyed Alys, Always (which is the book that's now a play in London, starring Joanne Froggatt from Downton).
