Exactly that really
Off to Buenos Aires next week and would love a read that reflected the holiday
I have read Isabel Allende and am prepared to re read but was hoping fir something a bit lighter?
Fir example went to Malaysia and Singapore last year and read the crazy rich Asians trilogy which was fabulous
I doubt I'll find an exact equivalent but if anyone can make a recommendation it will be you lot !!!

One of Phillip Kerr’s excellent Bernie Gunther crime novels is set in Argentina -A Quiet Flame.

And Graham Green’s The Honorary Consul.

The Motircycle Diaries, although not exactly light.

That’s all I know, but Goodreads has a list.

Other than Borges and Manuel Puig, I can't help (and neither is very light). Btw Allende is Chilean and you wouldn't want to make that mistake to an Argentinian Wink Blush

Eeeeek glad you pointed that out!!!!

Doesn't Santa Montefiore write books set in Argentina? Might not be what you're looking for though.

Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree by Santa Montefiore is set in Argentina.

Not 100% Argentinian but Polo by Jilly Cooper 😆. Especially if you are going to one of the polo ranches (highly recommended) or to Palermo to watch a match. It definitely falls into the category of ‘something lighter!’
