Quattrocento I have only ever seen the clip they show in film complilation charts, the bit when she has to choose and I have to leave the room. I am getting shaky just thinking about it.

MrsGolfPro · 01/07/2007 23:02

Twinset - I watched Sophie's choice and was really disappointed. It was very odd and not at all what I expected and not particularly heart-wrenching (believe me, I am a true soppy git too...)

talcy0 · 01/07/2007 23:03

i cried whilst reading Gobolino to dds the other night.....the first bit, all choked up...dds cried too

DrippingLizzie · 01/07/2007 23:03

"I Don't Know How She Does It" by Allison Pearson. Read it during a particularly low time in my life and her account of a mum trying desperately to juggle work and kids just struck such a chord with me.

UnConfident · 01/07/2007 23:05

Dior, I was like that too... I threw the book from me & sobbed into dh's arms.. he looked slightly worried that a book could make me so emotional!

jaynehater · 01/07/2007 23:06

"After You'd Gone", and shamefully, a complete wallowing beach read, Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas - read it disdainfully till the sad bit, then shed stone's worth of snot and tears into my gin and tonic by the pool, in public, to the delight of my step-daughter who promptly nagged to borrow it, and the horror of DH who hid behind his sunglasses and floppy hat for the remainder of the holiday. Any thing by Gary Rhodes gives me the shudders, too.

turquoise · 01/07/2007 23:06

The Ruth Picardie one.

twinsetandpearls · 01/07/2007 23:06

really MrsGolfPro but that scene is heartwrenching to watch and Meryl is the queen of melodrama.

twinsetandpearls · 01/07/2007 23:07

Gary Rhodes the chef?

Do you not like his cooking?

jaynehater · 01/07/2007 23:09

The hair! The constant reducing of perfectly good bottles of wine!! What's to like? Try his shepherd's pie recipe in British Classics - I guarantee tears before bedtime!!

PrincessButtercup · 01/07/2007 23:10

Tess of the D'Urbervilles. So, so sad...

Tommy · 01/07/2007 23:12

I always cry at The Railway Children - at the end when her father comes back....

MrsWeasley · 01/07/2007 23:14

"marley" made me cry when the dog dies

HP and the Goblet of Fire
HP and the Order of the Phoenix
HP and the half blood prince

I cry everytime I read these.

Will no doubt cry with the new one too!

MollyCoddle · 01/07/2007 23:27

The Subtle Knife (Philip Pullman) at the bit with Lee Scoresby/Hester...

Time Traveller's Wife.

cadelaide · 01/07/2007 23:31

The Book Thief....made me quite uncomfortable too.

bubblerock · 01/07/2007 23:31

My Best Friend's Girl It's under my bed, I can't read any more of it, I think I only read 4 or 5 chapters

oggsfrog · 01/07/2007 23:35

Time Traveller's Wife had me sobbing.

ladymariner · 01/07/2007 23:37

Oh Bubblerock, keep going with My Best Friends Girl, its sooooo fantastic. I cried just reading the back cover, and I looked like I'd got myxamatosis by the time I'd finished the book but it was well worth it!! Truly rate it as one of the best books I've ever read, it changed the way I looked at relationships. Truly marvellous!!!!

Pannacotta · 01/07/2007 23:45

Greensleeves · 01/07/2007 23:46
