Is there a trend towards titles like 'the Astronaut's niece'?

Seriously, the Time Traveller's Wife, the Memory Keeper's Daughter ... are there more? Why is it 'the female relative of the person with the interesting job'? Why can't the person with the interesting job be a woman? And why would books need to be so targetted to women?

(And where's 'the Cowboy's husband'? Or 'the Book Eater's son'?)

I seem to have a huge amount of Daughter titles knocking about
Memory Keeper' Daughter
Abortionist's Daughter
Firemaster's Daughter
No sons. No Dads.

I don't want to read a book about some bint who's related to someone interesting! I want to read a book about someone (of either gender) doing something interesting!

The Pilot's Wife. Wasn't that an Anita Shreeve title?
