I'm so excited that two of my favourite authors have books out later this year - Margaret Atwood's sequel to the Handmaid's Tale is out in Sept I and James Ellroy has written the follow up to Pefida. If George RR Martin got his arse in gear and finished a Song of Ice and Fire I would be a very happy lady!

What's on your 'must read' new releases this year?

The Handmaid's Tale sequel here too. Hope it doesn't disappoint!

For me, it’s the paperback release of Patrick Gale’s Take Nothing With You.

It’s due out in April and ever since the hardback was published many months ago, I’ve been waiting and waiting for the paperback.

Not too long now to go now, and I can’t wait!

New Jackson Brody by Kate Atkinson. Also the Olive Kitteridge sequel.

I didn’t know there was a new Jackson Brodie. Must go and investigate Smile

There is an Olive Kitteridge sequel? I am looking forward to reading that!

Shaun Bythell who wrote "Diary of a Bookseller" is releasing a sequel this year.

Dream Sequence by Adam Foulds

The Truths and Triumphs of Grace Atherton by Anstey Harris (I have actually read it and I am sure it will be one to watch in 2019, "up-lift" and bowls along so well...)

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

Adèle by Leila Slimani

The Lost Man by Jane Harper (and in fact I have just read this one, the 3rd book, which isn't up there with The Dry, but a good enough read)

Machines Like Me by Ian McEwan

Metropolis by Philip Kerr

Shadowplay by Joseph O’Connor

The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead

Platform Seven by Louise Doughty

Oh I didn't know there was a new Jackson Brodie either. That's now on my list. Some other books named on here that I know nothing about so I'm off to investigate ...

And I've just looked up Olive Kitteridge and discovered the author is Elizabeth Strout. I read 'Lucy Barton' and really liked that so that's more to read this year

Ooh I didn’t know about the new Elizabeth Strout one, I’ll definitely read that. I’m also looking forward to the new Margaret Atwood, and Thomas Harris’ new novel.

It's all going to be about The Testaments for me, too. I think I'm more excited about this than any other book, ever.
