I'm slogging my way through this book. Should I continue? I'm on p. 69. I've heard so much about it for so many years but I'm bored with it. Does it get better soon?

I loved it and found it a really quick read. But not everyone likes the same things.

Have you watched the series? It's a tough watch but easily one of the best series I have ever seen.

HannahnotAgnes · 30/12/2018 23:55

I read it after having watched the tv series & really enjoyed it but I think I would have struggled to read it if I'd not seen the tv show first.

It is a fantastic book & tv series & really makes you think, so if you can, I'd suggest persevering with it.

It's probably the only book I ever read where I thought the tv adaptation was better than the book!

I read it to the end but really didn't get it. No idea why everyone raves about it

I think if you're not into it by now I'd shelve it and read something you prefer.

I loved it and I’m looking forward to the sequel. I’d also recommend the TV series.

I love it - but I did it for A level.

Read something else if you’re not feeling it. Life’s too short to limp through a book you’re not enjoying.

I've read the book but didn't watch the TV series. Are there going to be sequel books to match the TV series?

Azelma · 08/02/2019 18:55

Margaret Atwood has written a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, called The Testaments, out in September.

I don't believe it matches the TV series, but is completely new material.
