Posted in Chat but got no response Grin

I have a bit of a penchant for YA fiction and in a thread about decent series’, a poster recommended Lockwood and Co. Its SO good! They were so right to recommend it. Unfortunately now I have finished all the books and I’m bereft.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

I love Lockwood and Co! Such a great group of characters and also genuinely scary. Try Philip Reeve’s Railhead trilogy, a great mixture of sci fi and fantasy.

Have you read the Bartemeus Trilogy by the same author? I don’t usually read YA but I loved this. I also really want to read Lockwood and Co, so I hope they’re similar Smile

I second Bartemaeus although there are now 4 of them
The Ring Of Solomon - Demon extraordinaire, Bartimaeus, is stuck as a spirit slave doing dead-end jobs in King Solomon's Jerusalem. The shame of it! Solomon's ring of legend, which affords its master absolute power, has a lot to answer for.

I would also recommend Kathy Reichs Virals series.

Eoin Coifer is also pretty good with Artemis Fowl series and Airman

Chris Morphew’s The Phoenix Files are a cracking good read. A bit sci fi, a bit dystopian, gripping and really well paced. I picked up the first one at random 2nd hand, and then bought all the rest.

Ahhh replies - brilliant!

I did see his Bartemeaus series but was irrationally worried it wouldn’t be as good because the characters in Lockwood are SO good. I just started reading some of his other one off stories - The Leap and The Last Siege.

Thanks for the other recommendations!

I loved Lockwood!! Have since re-read the books and was again sad when I'd finished them all Sad

Have you tried the Jodi Taylor books set at St Mary's? Same sort of vibe and lots more to read. They have a really interesting and lively Facebook page too as a bonus (couldn't find one for Lockwood).

I did try his other series but couldn't get into it, don't know why!
