Hi lovely mumsnet readers

I have just finished this book this morning and I was a complete wreck. Poor Harold. Poor Jude & Willieam & Malcolm (& even JB!). I actually feel emotionally exhausted after that read but so so beautifully written. And it was the good folk of mumsnet that recommend it to me after my post about my devastation at finishing the Goldfinch. So good folk any other recommendations in the same vein? Big book great writing etc? Many Thanks. Oh and Happy Christmas Xmas Wink

I remember your thread from a few months ago. Have you read The Heart's Invisible Furies, by John Boyne? That also has a sweeping and epic feel. I found it a very emotional read.

I finished this a few days ago. I knew it was going to be bad. The whole book was heartbreaking and yet such a lovely read as well.

Thanks southeast will check that out - has ticked a few boxes already just from your description. Oh Wolfclub it's just heartbreaking and I loved it. Thinking about Jude & William even today when i went for a walk. Love it when a book gets under your skin
