What was it like?
I bought 2 on 1st Jan - the man who robbed his own post office which was a short story book by Jeffrey Archer (and was free) and the other was The birdwoman's palate by Laksmi Pamuntjak.

The Jeffrey Archer book was good but predictable, it filled a gap waiting for a bus, I'm glad I read it. I've not read the other one yet.

Ooh I'm not sure but I definitely have not yet read some from near the beginning of the year such as Eleanor Oliphant and The Midwich Cuckoos

I read the Midwich Cuckoos a long time ago, so much that I've forgotten the plot. I couldn't get into Eleanor Oliphant at all.

I bought To the Bright Edge of the World by Eowyn Ivey on 1st January and found it totally engrossing.

The Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan. It was sensational and I got The New Silk Roads for Christmas.
