I'm so excited about upcoming travel mainly at the thoughts of all the reading I can catch up on. For very dull reasons I've read little over past 2 years or so, not into science fiction but will give most things a go.

Looking for recommendations for can't put down reads please... also want to get Michelle Obama's biography do you think kindle will reduce prices after Xmas or should I go for it now? Smile

Look at the 12 days of Kindle sale, maybe?

Avoid the free downloads.... they are free for a reason Grin. I've never got past the 10th page of one.

I'm really enjoying the "A discovery of witches" books, by Deborah Harkness. Very easy reading and enchanting.

The free downloads are worth a scan. Sometimes established authors put the first in a series for free to get you hooked!
I think I'd look up some "must read" or "bestseller" lists, and cherry pick from those. So maybe Richard and Judy bookclub list, Man Booker shortlist and see if there is anything from your preferred news source.

Enjoy your holiday!

What kind of things do you like? I've read a lot of autobiographies this year as they are usually very easy reading which is always good for a holiday.
On holiday this year I read Marian Keyes' Rachel's Holiday in a day, I had always dismissed it as 'chic lit' which now having read one of her books I think it was unfair and I really enjoyed it.
I'm currently reading We have always lived in the castle by Shirley Jackson which I'm enjoying so far.
I'm also reading The desert and the sea by Michael Scott Moore about his experiences of being kidnapped by pirates in Somalia.
I also really enjoyed 'This is going to hurt' written by a junior doctor about working in the NHS.
Keep an eye on the £1.99 or 99p offers on amazon

If Yiu are going somewhere cold, the Snow Child is a great read.
