Unfortunately we are going to have to wait until September but this blurb from the penguin website has already got me intrigued / excited:-

The Testaments by Margaret Atwood is the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, and is narrated by three female characters.

It’s set 15 years after Offred’s final scene, the moment when the van door slams and she is about to be driven off to an uncertain future – one either of freedom, more torture and imprisonment, or even death. We just don’t know.

Was rather disappointed by THT novel, it’s one of the very few books that are poorer than its television version.

Ooh, very excited by this. First read the novel over 20 years ago and it really stayed with me.

Interested to see where the sequel will take the story compared to the TV series.

Ooo sounds interesting.
I've just finished season 2 and was aghast at how it ended

I was wondering whether this would be a retrospective write up of the hulu extension of it - sounds like its a whole new take on the story 15 years later so that's good! I will definitely be reading it. I've not managed to watch series 2 of the handmaids tale as I don't have Hulu but as it wasn't written by Atwood (or at least based on it) I've not been too bothered. Wonder how season 2 of the show and this book will match up, if at all.

Aromatic it was shown on Channel 4 a couple of months ago. Not sure if it’s still available on catch up. Apparently Atwood was heavily involved in the storyline for the second season.

Loopytiles · 28/11/2018 17:53

Wow! Exciting.

Wonder if she will take a different path to the TV adaptation.

Chessie by the time I spotted it on c4 catch-up (I only really watched streamed stuff, not live tv so I miss adverts for things) the first three eps of it weren't available and I couldn't bring myself to start on episode four Sad

@AromaticSpices season 2 is available on prime
Season 1 is on sky or now TV
