because neville kills her!

the character list on wiki is fabulous. natalie mcdonald, sorted in year four was a little canadian girl who die of leukemia, a friend had written and asked that she be included and JKR wrote back, bit missed her by a day. she struck up a friendship with her mum and included natalies name.

but

MrsWeasley · 11/07/2007 10:21

yeah I hope and think neville will do her in.

BandofMuggles · 11/07/2007 10:26

Aaaaaah, what a shame she missed it

But Neville killing Bellatrix would be fantastic. His Gran would be sooooooo proud of him.

PhoenixSongbird · 11/07/2007 10:59

Holy crap, who compiled that list? It?s incredible! Do you think JKR uses it for reference

persephonesnape · 11/07/2007 11:26

ooh! tonkses mum is still alive..

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 11/07/2007 11:34

Can I just ask - where did we find out that Aberforth Dumbledore was landlord of the Hogs Head? I don't remember reading that anywhere.

MrsWeasley · 11/07/2007 11:40

I saw it here

HTH

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 11/07/2007 12:14

Yes but is it in the books? Otherwise how has someone surmised that?

kneazlechick · 11/07/2007 12:16

Just followed that link and, in trying to find out where they got the info I found this:

Is Aunt Petunia a Squib?

Good question. No, she is not, but?[Laughter]. No, she is not a Squib. She is a Muggle, but?[Laughter]. You will have to read the other books. You might have got the impression that there is a little bit more to Aunt Petunia than meets the eye, and you will find out what it is. She is not a squib, although that is a very good guess. Oh, I am giving a lot away here. I am being shockingly indiscreet.

Hmmmm...?

And this is what she says about Aberforth:

Why is the barman of the Hog?s Head vaguely familiar to Harry? Is he Dumbledore?s brother?

Ooh?you are getting good. Why do you think that it is Aberforth? [Audience member: Various clues. He smells of goats and he looks a bit like Dumbledore]. I was quite proud of that clue. That is all that I am going to say. [Laughter]. Well yes, obviously. I like the goat clue?I sniggered to myself about that one.

MrsWeasley · 11/07/2007 12:19

they are apparently quotes from JKR at various interviews (all listed on site)

rosmerta · 11/07/2007 12:48

Cannot believe that character list! Though when I was looking through her site, you can find the bits and pieces where she talks about different characters that she wanted to include but couldn't. Apparently Dean Thomas had a whole back story that we've never heard about!

persephonesnape · 11/07/2007 13:12

how long to go ( are we there yet? are we there yet?)

this could be the longest ten days ( or so) ever. two of my three children were ten days overdue, thats what this feels like. hurry UP!!!

rosmerta · 11/07/2007 13:16

I'm going to be very and if my book isn't here first thing Saturday am!

whompingwillowinthedewmeadow · 11/07/2007 13:25

living in the sticks, we dont getour post until lunchtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MrsWeasley · 11/07/2007 13:31

quick move house

PhoenixSongbird · 11/07/2007 13:53

Been thinking about Petunia, she could be some other type of magic being - a hag perhaps? .

Or, judging by Dudley, there could be some troll blood in there somewhere! Mind you, that's more likely to be from Vernon, eh?

persephonesnape · 11/07/2007 13:56

post comes late-ish here as well ( although i will be in Derby, so couldn't pre order..) for OOTP and HBBP I've just got up early, made toast for the kids and we've all piled in the car and headed for ASDA. they normally have a box about four foot sqaure of them.

kneazlechick · 11/07/2007 14:10

Our post is usually here by 10 - 10.30 ish. I'll be having words with out postie if he doesn't have my book!!

I didn't put the quote earlier but in the same place I got the others from JKR says that there is nothing more to Dudley's character...

Is there more to Dudley than meets the eye?

No. [Laughter]. What you see is what you get. I am happy to say that he is definitely a character without much back story. He is just Dudley. The next book, Half Blood Prince, is the least that you see of the Dursleys. You see them quite briefly. You see them a bit more in the final book, but you don?t get a lot of Dudley in book six?very few lines. I am sorry if there are Dudley fans out there, but I think you need to look at your priorities if it is Dudley that you are looking forward to. [Laughter].

The whole thing is here

PhoenixSongbird · 11/07/2007 14:48

Mmn, I said that about Dudley down there [peers down the precipice that is this thread] somewhere. It?s disappointing isn?t it? I wanted Dinky Diddikins to be Harry?s next evil nemesis, once he?s polished off Voldemort. Book 25 ? Harry Potter and the Half-Witted Cousin or something. Maybe Harry and Ginny will have a little speccy son also called Harry, who could continue the adventures ?.. ah, the possibilities.

Because he WILL NOT DIE!!!!!!

I can?t remember if it was POA or GOF, but there?s a great bit in Divination where Ron says ?a midget with glasses will be born?. This always makes me giggle. U-No-Poo still my fave bit though.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 11/07/2007 14:52

I must admit I'm intrigued by Petunia. I definitely think still waters run deep with her.

PhoenixSongbird · 11/07/2007 14:52

Which house do you think you?d be in (be honest, now you evil ambitious opportunist Slytherins!).

I have to say, and I am very proud to admit it, I?d be a Hufflepuff! It?s my favourite house. All the brave, maybe foolhardy people go to Gryffindor, power-crazed madmen go to Slytherin, clever and quick-witted ones go to Ravenclaw (I?d like to be there really), and the rest go to Hufflepuff. In my mind, Hufflepuffers are mild, fair, open-minded, unprejudiced etc, and I?d like to think that?s me. I think they get a raw deal at Hogwarts. And Cedric Diggory, mmmnnn, mummy like!

PhoenixSongbird · 11/07/2007 14:54

Petunia definitely has her moments doesn?t she? I feel quite sorry for her sometimes. Vernon is just plain awful, and look at Marge! I?d love to know why she married him.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 11/07/2007 15:02

Unrequited love for some other character (Snape, James, Sirius, Peter P) definitely led her to marry Vernon.
I think I'd probably be Ravenclaw. I was in top set for everything at school [swank]!

rosmerta · 11/07/2007 15:04

I'd probably be in Hufflepuff as well if I'm truly honest!

Bet persephone would be in Slytherin [boo, hiss]!
