Hope there aren't now about 10 of these cos we've all opened at the same time.

persephonesnape - What a way to put it Must think twice about us having a MN counselling session now. )

Dont know about Ron being a dead cert. They cant kill off too many from the same family. I have a feeling Mr W will be the one as he really would die to save someone else. but then again so would Harry, he couldn't leave ron when Lupin had one of his funny turns in PoA!

rosmerta · 21/06/2007 18:41

I keep changing my mind on who's going to die. Definitely think Voldie will but then rotate between Harry, Ron, Neville, Snape & Draco!

About discussing it afterwards, I think the best thing to do is to nominate a person to set up a Spoilers thread & then that way, those of us who have finished it can chat about it there without worrying about ruining it for everyone else? You know, it could have a caps title like: SPOILERS, discuss HP here if you have finished or something.

What do you all think?

Songbird · 21/06/2007 18:54

Good idea. But when we finish we should check to see if there's a thread and if not, start one - we don't know who's going to finish it first, do we?

We'll all have to change our names for the occasion (unless we already have - I've planning mine already...)

rosmerta · 21/06/2007 19:01

Hi songbird, what I was thinking was that one person sets it up on the Friday before the book is released so that it's all ready to go, and then they can post the link on the chat thread so everyone knows where it is.

saltire · 21/06/2007 19:02

I think it's a good idea to have spoilers in the title, so those who don't want to know don't have to read it.
I won't be at home when the book comes out, I shall be at my mum's where the book is getting delivered to! I won't be able to comment on any thread until I get back!

Songbird · 21/06/2007 19:18

Oh yeah, now I get it . I'm being a bit of a spanner today! Of course, this makes perfect sense.

LazyLine · 21/06/2007 19:26

I would like it, in terms of the story line if Ron were to die, to sacrifice himself to save Harry, like he did in the chess game. I suspect that JKR will not kill him though.

I suspect that Percy Weasley will either be outed as a Death Eater and killed or reform and reunite with his family. Although if we are thinking about the redemption of either/both Snape and Draco Malfoy then that might be a bit much.

Suspect Bellatrix will kick it, as will Voldie (of course) and that Harry will have to sacrifice something important to live. Killable others include Hagrid, Flitwick, one of the Weasley twins, Hermione's parents, Lucius Malfoy, Dobby, Lupin and Pettigrew.

OOoooh can't wait!

MrsWeasley · 21/06/2007 19:53

I think Harry, Ron and Hermione will all live and come out stronger and united!

I dearly hope Lupin doesnt die.
I dont like the idea of 1 twin getting killed. I would keep thinking about the one that was left.

I'd like to think Dobby plays an important role but not sure
I really like Hagrid (hes my ideal man!!) but think he may die to save harry, ron and hermy!
Ginny will live but Mr Weasley wont
Not sure about neville. May die saving his Gran!
Luna will live and come out unscatched! LOL

I am not bothered if the follwoing die :malfoy (any of them) snape (hes too mean) pettigrew (should get what he deserves) Voldemort(good riddance)Bellatrix(serves her right(I blame her for sirius)Kreacher (no great loss)

MrsWeasley · 21/06/2007 19:55

mind you I change my mind every day

BandofMothers · 21/06/2007 20:01

Good grief, 60 messages already.
Better get reading

OP posts:
LazyLine · 21/06/2007 20:03

I agree that Arthur will probably die.

I am thinking that Sirius might not be properly dead though. I know that Harry inherited the house and all, and Kreacher knows to answer to Harry now, so magically, they all know that he is dead. But the veil thing seemed so unfinished to me.

I assume that Neville will kill Bellatrix.

BandofMothers · 21/06/2007 20:22

I think the veil will be in it again.
I think Snape will die saving Harry, thus redeeming himself. Not sure about Hagrid.

Perhaps we could just not come back to the thread before we've read the book, Or entitle one with
ONLY FOR HP FANS WHO@VE FINISHED BOOK 7

Can't get much clearer than that really and if they enter anyway, tough really isn't it.

OP posts:
BandofMothers · 21/06/2007 20:23

Oh and Dobby, he may die saving Harry . I think he'd do anything for his Harry Potter

OP posts:
Songbird · 21/06/2007 20:34

Did any of you feel sorry for other parents when your babies were born? 'Oh, poor them, they can't love their babies as much as I love dd' kind of thing?

Well, I feel the same about HP . Here I am thinking 'oh, poor BOM, Mrs W, Rosmerta etc, okay, they love HP, but not as much as me, surely'. I feel sorry for you ladies, I really do.

BandofMothers · 21/06/2007 20:36

I will agree that we all love him the same

Don't want to get into a fight on our lovely thread.

OP posts:
MrsWeasley · 21/06/2007 20:44

Songbird: Sorry I didnt think that when I had my DC.

but I know I love HP more than chocolate

rosmerta · 21/06/2007 21:02

I'm still upset I missed all the wombat tests

BandofMothers · 21/06/2007 21:23

It wont let me take the WOMBAT test. When I click on the wombat card thing it asks for a student no.

Only one month to go.
I am going to read the new one as soon as I can, and then re-read them all so I can pick up the clues in the earlier ones.
I'm sure HWCBN will die, as for the other one, I'm looking forward to finding out.
I can't be alone in hoping that Neville will conquer, Neville and Luna.
I think I can take Harry's death as long as nobody from Dumbledore's Army suffers.
Mrs Weasley, maybe you should turn your clock so it faces the wall, it may give you some sleepless nights. AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT PERCY.
Thats a really long message from me...Hello to all the HP fans. Not long now.

rosmerta · 21/06/2007 22:09

Hi everyone, last post for me until next week now. We're going away for the weekend!

Annie, I've sent a package owl with 2 bottles of butterbeer for you. That's a thank you for Tinky, he's doing very well

Have a good weekend, and remember, swish and flick !

MrsWeasley · 21/06/2007 23:31

Safe journey Rosmerta. Have a lovely week-end. We will still be here when you return

My clock is now doing circles (with excitement) as is my tummy!

Percy is power crazy but I dont think we would cross over to the dark side. I am now thinking that Mr Weasley may die saving him or the other way round! If Percy died saving another weasley that would prove is alliance to the family! (although a bit too late if hes dead )

goodasgold · 21/06/2007 23:42

I do not think that any of your lot will be for the chop Mrs Weasley, still sort Percy out. What a wanker.
Where is your good little house elf annie?
How can house elves apparate and disapparate within Hogwarts?
where was Wormtail at the end of book 6?
Oh I is here... Annie is drinking Firewhisky with Dobby. And so because she is I will too. Please let me know if anything happens. I just realised I made up Annie as an excuse to drink fire whisky. But I don't really care because Grandma's not here.

BandofMothers · 22/06/2007 07:55

Perhaps DD made it so they can apparate within the castle walls to make there job easier, That would be an awful lot of walking otherwise, but I'm sure they can't apparate in and out the castle itself. Good point tho.

I don't think Percy will die, or Mr W. But I don't think she could finish the books off without having Voldie die. He must be conquered. The whole premise of his character is that he wants to escape death, surely he must be defeated in the end.

GOOD MUST TRIUMPH - even though they'll probably take some casualties.
