Hope there aren't now about 10 of these cos we've all opened at the same time.

OP posts:

Of course Lily could have taken Snape home and he fell for petunia but she didnt like him because he is greasy and she is a clean freak!

Snape didnt know that the prophecy was connected to the potters. But when V killed lily and James he realised that Petunia would never forgive him and they share an equal loathing of Harry!

Ok pretty poor I know but its late, i'm ironing

suezee · 08/07/2007 23:18

lol mrs weasley, i do agree that maybe snape fell in love with lily.....she actually stood up for him when james cast the spell to lift him in the air upside down. im just hoping that he does major redeeming in the new book.

lilibetpotter · 09/07/2007 08:56

It can't be Dudders who does magic as he can't fill the description 'late in life'

I'm going with Mrs Figgs on that one.

lilibetpotter · 09/07/2007 08:59

And we still don;t know how Lily and James got together - what happened to change her opinion of him so drastically?

expatinscotland · 09/07/2007 08:59

she's going to snuff at least 3 folks in the last book. she's admitted as much.

my guess is harry and ron for two of them.

it would fit, seeing as james and sirius were best mates in life and now are both dead.

missgriss · 09/07/2007 09:01

Not long to go now

I'm going internet and television free as from midnight 21 July just to make sure no bugger spoils the ending for me

TransfiguratingLily · 09/07/2007 09:14

So, if Petunia is a non practising witch then she may have practised magic in the past so if she started again, she wouldn't be doing magic for the first time......

MrsWeasley · 09/07/2007 10:10

I think the person who discovers magic late in life is Filch!

HARRY WILL NOT DIE! Got it?

Lily fell in love with James as he matured. (We all done it, spent years being annoyed by the immature little boys, with their giggling and playing football then suddenly we see them on the way out somewhere and think WOW when did he get so tall, good looking, amusing etc. Haven't we? )

Goodness you've been busy!
I agree with Kate100 that Malfoy wanted to be friends with Harry in the first book for influence and novelty factor. I don't think he ever wanted to be good but I also don't think he really understood evil properly either. I think that in HBP he began to understand but he is too soft/spoiled to really be up to it - he has been exposed to it growing up but to be honest I think Lucius likes the power being evil brings him but also lacks the guts for pure evil.
Have often wondered if Petunia is a witch but I don't think she is, I do think that she would have liked to be one though and that is why she was so jealous of her sister. I also don't think she hates Harry at all it just makes her life with Vernon easier to act that way. If she hated him then she would not really care what happened to him and would not have said he could stay after she received the Howler. I believe she would help him if she was able to.
As for Dudley, I think he may be the one to do magic later in life, I know he is only 17 but isn't that quite late for a wizard to first discover powers? I remember Neville saying that for years they thought he was a squib but then when he fell/was pushed out the window and he didn't die (did he slow his fall down or something?) they knew he wasn't. I think he was quite late for a wizard too.

Just realised am at a friend's wedding the day of DH's launch. Do you think it's rude if I read in the church/reception...?

LazyLine · 09/07/2007 12:03
