I've been wondering what all the SPEW stuff was for in book 5. Now that Kreacher is emplyed at Hogwarts do you think there's a chance that HE could pick up one of Hermione's little hats and therefore be free? In which case he could betray the entire Order. Otherwise I'm really not sure what the point of all the "Hermione loves house elves" stuff is.

But will Hermione go back to Hogwarts or will she go with Harry?

i always thought that the spew-stuff was to show Rowlings audience that one should help those less advantaged/more exploited than us you can draw parallels with third world labour. it's not a plot device, just a way of making children think about others...

I can't help thinking that the SPEW stuff must be there for a reason though, Persephonesnape. She seems to have been planting clues throughout the books, so I feel it ought to be relevant, rather than "just" a morality lesson, however much that may be needed!

sometimes i think it's just to show that hermoine comes from muggle stock - wizarding folk just tend to accept that house elves are where they are on the social ladder.. Harry doesn't quite understand that because he was brought up muggle. Ron was too poor to have house elves, but doesn't really worry about the social stratus of house elves..

I know it looks like it's outside, but could that be THE room in the dept of mysteries where sirius died? the way it is described in OoTP sounds like an amphitheatre. are we seeing a view from behind the veil? there are curtains tied back at the sides of the picture

also, it looks as though V is trying to shield himself. is something coming out through the veil to get him? is harry summoning it?

did anyone see Imelda stauton on breakfast bbc yesterday? there was a clip of the room of requirement and Ginny conjuring her patronus. it looked amazing. afterwards the female presenter turned to the male prersenter and made a joke about 'abracadabra' only it sounded a bit like avada kadevra'. I expected the poor man to drop dead on the spot!
