Not sure if this is the right topic to post in but looking for some advice with my kindle please.

It's a paperwhite that I've had for about 18 months.

The charge use to last for absolutely ages but for the past week I'm having I charge it every other day & I can't understand why.

I tried google & the main thing that seems to get suggested is that a book is stuck indexing so I followed the steps for that but there were no results so I don't think that's the issue.

Anybody had similar & know anything else I could try please??

Do you keep the wifi on? If so,turn it off unless you're downloading a book or update. Mine can last a week between charges and I use mine every day.

Once I’ve downloaded a book, I switch it to airplane mode to reduce battery drain as I was having the same problem. Could that help?
It means you can’t use some functions like dictionary and something else that I can’t remember Blush

Don't have a paperwhite but have a fire and the last update is draining my battery something fierce.
I have aeroplane mode on and all volume low with brightNess dimmed

I have a very old kindle, so not a paper white, but leaving the wifi on really drains the battery. Without that, it lasts for weeks, even though it's very old.

I didn't think to turn the WiFi off I'll try that & see if it makes a difference but I've always had it on constant in the past & the battery has lasted well so I can't understand why it's suddenly started going down so quickly.

I do like having a kindle but I think battery drain over time is designed to make you have to buy a replacement

It happened on dh paperwhite. There was a software update that caused the problem and just needed another update. He doesnt use his much. I use mine everday and its about 4 years old and battery life still excellent
