we are a very nice and friendly group of 5 women who met via mumsnet. We meet in north herts on a monday evening about once every 6 weeks. And we'd like 1 or 2 new members. Interested????

Sunny Luton!

Sorry, I went away to sort out non-sleeping child and didn't come back!

ska · 20/06/2007 17:45

well is it too far? I go to Luton quite a lot and it doesn't take too long - 20 mins by the back roads - what do you think - we take it in turns and can share lifts when it's your turn?

Another bump from another book group member. C'mon, you know you want to join us. Next meet-up is to talk about Perfume by PAtrick Suskind (sorry, haven't checked spelling of his name). We are a very nice group - enthusiastic and not too worried about getting off the book discussion to talk about other subjects - current affairs and what's going on in our lives and so forth.

feetheart · 21/06/2007 14:36

No, not too far though have never done a book club and might need a little pointing in the right direction!
Really need something to get me reading anything other than Terry Pratchett but only get to read before bed ATM and need something not too taxing/exciting or I don't sleep!!

ska · 21/06/2007 20:17

feetheart - do you wnat to give it a go? You can CAT me if you want or else i will give you my email address. sorry for the delay in getting bcak on - just a bit busy!

As yet another member of the group, am bumping this again, and would just like to reiterate that we're a friendly group in our 30s & 40s who all seem to have hit it off and have good fun discussing whichever book we've been reading (and, inevitably, getting sidetracked onto other topics too).

melbob · 22/06/2007 23:15

I'm on Bishops Stortford not sure if its too far and work in London what time do you meet?

Lio · 23/06/2007 15:21

HI melbob, you're right, it is a long way, but to help you decide we start at about 8.15/8.30, finishing around 10/10.30 depending on how much there is to talk about. We tend to drift off the book after a while...

ska · 23/06/2007 21:25

ah yes but we can make it a bit later if it's better for people. And as for drifting off book, it does depend on what it is doesn't it!!

IdrisTheDragon · 26/06/2007 19:50

I might be interested (although I am in Beds - is that OK? ). Only just over the border from North Herts though .

missyhols · 26/06/2007 20:08

Family still live in potters bar so there a fair bit. Or st albans anything to get out house!

ska · 28/06/2007 12:50

sorry been busy and not caught up with mumsnet for a while. As far as the NH book group goes we are all based in Stevenage, Knbeowrth and Royston so are quite flexible about where you are - If you are interested let me know! We can sort out car sharing for when we go further afiedl than around here.

BUT If there are a few of you in south herts though why don't you try to form a new one? we 've only been going since January and it was quite easy to set up! Let me know, either way is fine with us!
And we do meet sometimes in the week for coffee and a natter so if you'd like a day time meet up let me know nad we can organise something
