i love Anita Shreeve (just read Eden Close)
wonderful slow burner of a novel

I have this book (got it after reading lots of other she's written - Light on Snow was excellent) but couldn't get into it. I might try again.

I've read all of hers and I think Fortune's Rocks is the best by far - there are a few all set in the same house in different eras (The Pilot's Wife for example, and one in the depression, can't remember which)
